information about ICC international missions

In July 2007 I joined our Mozambique mission team and ventured out to a nation I had never before visited. The trip was a step out into the unknown but it turned out to be even more of a fulfilling adventure than I expected it to be!

The people we met in Quelimane were beautiful – incredibly friendly and welcoming. And the children – despite their difficult living situations – always wore bright smiles and leapt up in happiness to see us. We had loads of fun with the whole community.

We assisted the locals with practical tasks such as assembling fences and painting walls and we used native materials which helped teach us a great deal about their culture.

Mission was amazing and if the opportunity comes again I’d love to return and serve there again. In fact, everyone should go at least once – it’s such a brilliant experience!

In July 08, a team of seven people, from ICCD, arrived for the first time, in Harsova – South East Romania.

We got stuck in straightaway - painting fences, singing, dancing, acting out dramas and sharing our faith! Not to mention trying very tasty Romanian dishes and enjoying the hot sunshine on the beach!

We found many children eager to engage with the exciting programmes we’d prepared. We enjoyed seeing a large number of them respond so positively to a loving and fun God, many of which, accepted Jesus as their Saviour.

Visiting families was a precious experience. We saw people become vulnerable - sharing their thoughts and struggles. It was a privilege to be invited into their homes, speak into their lives, and to pray for them.

As the first team from ICCD to visit Romania, we purposed to love and enjoy the people as much as possible and we’re glad that we seized every opportunity to do just that!

Looking forward to Romania '09!
